E3 - Gaming sooner than later
Really enjoyed both conferences yesterday amazing games presented by both companies. But the nonsense has begun & already the Gaming Media outlets & Youtubers are all saying Sony slayed the competition - (IGN I'm looking at you) - Really?! MS's show slowed off a little at mid point with the Minecraft stuff,AA's & indies as did Sony's but the overall package was outstanding for both. Now to the thread title - This is where (in my opinion) MS kicked Sony into touch as it must be 90% of the games shown by MS we will all be able to play within the next 6mths. For this reason & the SCORPIO announcement I believe MS just edged it this year. Amazingly only TLG (a decade in the making/waiting) had a concrete release date - with Horizon:ZD pushed back until March 2017 & God of War,Days Gone & Detroit:BH while all looking technically outstanding could be late 2017/early 2018 before these games see daylight. Anyways as Zaire stated the true winner of E3 was WE the gamers as there looks to be some truly awesome games heading our way soon. I don't know about anybody else but I might have to look at a 2nd part-time job otherwise I'll be penniless before Xmas even hits!!!

I Agree. Microsoft won this E3 overall. We know everything Microsoft showed we will be playing this holiday or next year. Sony's games shown we don't know when they will even get a release date. Most likely most of them will hit 2018. Scorpio and the slim, won it for microsoft this year fair and square. The sony fanboys will always say sony won no matter what, but deep down they know scorpio is took the cake

If it was Sony with the Scorpio the media and the fanboy youtubers would of said Sony won solely because of this. Last year Sony supposedly won because of noatalgia but last year was terrible, yet they won. So Imo, the victor this year was MS. Why? More AAA shown with release dates, and they are more social, with probably more content. Making the games have more replay-value than Sony games. Hopefully, some of the games Sony showed has some kind of multiplayer in them.

It is a good game, I cant deny that. Though you cant win E3 with just one game.

Granted but it makes for one hell of an intro to the conference.

I thought Horizon Zero Dawn looked cool. The rest of the Sony's conference was dog shit.

Yup. I honestly believe we'll all be sat down next Xmas firing up our SCORPIO's before the majority of the games shown by Sony are even released!! If we were guaranteed the Sony line up shown were playable in the next 6mths I'd be in line day 1 for a PS:Neo without a doubt.

Re: E3 - Gaming sooner than later
Sony's games lineup looked nice, if distant, but in terms of the venue, hype, hardware, and solid release dates, how can anyone say the Microsoft "lost" E3? At the very least, their showing was as good as Sony's, if not better, in my opinion.
I mean Microsoft's stage: just WOW!

I don't understand the appeal of Sony exclusives. It really goes to show how much the Playstation is a console for casual players. It seems their fanbase love the story driven linear type games. You know the games that are "once and done". You play it once then your done with it.
I love competitive games. Madden, Halo etc.... Its my skill vs. another person's skill. Games you can play over and over again. I thought MS did fantastic at E3. Sony? Meh. You announce a bunch of casual type games you won't be seeing until 2019. If MS showed off games that far in advance, their show would be 3 hours long.
I will never get a Playstation of any sort. Their games are for casual gamers and they have the most god awful controller (thumbstick placement). I can see girls liking it however. It really goes to show you......
Nintendo=for kids
Playstation=Casual gamer
Xbox=Hardcore gamer
Microsoft won E3 by a country mile.

Re: E3 - Gaming sooner than later
As the resident Pony let me provide a bit of perspective.
The problem with the "MS E3 showed four games we're playing within 6 months so MS won E3" theory is that two of those you guys already knew were coming before E3 (Gears and Forza Horizon 3). The only to games you all didn't until E3 press conference was Dead Rising and Recore. That's it. Hell you all played the Gears 4 beta.
Sony didn't show No Man's Sky because we already knew about that game for a awhile now. No need to bring it back. We also have Gran Turismo Sport this year but no need to show at E3 cause we already have a release date ans Sony already showed a trailer and gameplay. Again, no need to being it are E3.
So the rest of the year PS4 got No Man's Sky, GT Sport and The Last Guardian. Those three on top of already lineup that was provided with SFV, Rachet and CLank, MLB and Uncharted 4.
So with all that already in play why wouldn't gamers want to see more future projects? You guys were all about that last year at E3 and Gamescom. Halo Wars 2, Recore, Scalebound, We Happy Few. Those games were all last year announcements and only one is releasing this year. But now apparently it's a problem?
The fact is MS only announced one new game (State of Decay 2) and ZERO new IPs. Not a single new IP they announced in development. So now you have to create this new goal post of "games coming out within 6 months" damage control.
Come on now, be better than that. Call a spade a spade. Let MS know they need to push out more info on the projects they have because the games of late 2017 and 2018 are being developed right now as wee speak so the question begs
.....is anything in development?

Post comes one day after Shannon Loftis confirms unannounced titles are in development.

There's no damage control here. I understand where you're coming from. You brought up a legitimate concern. I was looking for new IPs, and MS disappointed. However, I'm not going to lose sleep not knowing if there will be games after 2017 on Xbox. The Project Scorpio announcement already guarantees there will be.
